CEREMONIAL SESSIONS ON 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS OF REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA WERE HELD

The Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska hold a ceremonies on the occasion of 20 years of work and establishment of the Academy on December 6 and 7,2013.
On this occasion the Gallery of art was opened and the exibition of art works under the title „The Art of Republic of Srpska“ was opened for the public. The exibition was prepared by academician Milivoje Unković, and opened by president of the Academy academician Rajko Kuzmanović.
The central manifestation – ceremonial session of Academy was held on December 7. There were presented, instead of members of the Academy, many distinguished guests from the country and abroad, as president of Republic of Srpska H.E. Milorad Dodik, Minister of science and technology of Republic of Srpska prof. Jasmin Komić, president of Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts Momir Đurović, president of Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts Vlado Kambovski, vice president of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Ljubiša Rakić, representative of Spanish Royal Academy for Economy and Finance academician Jaime Gil Lafuente, president of the Global Round Tabel dr Gilbert Fayl and many others.
During the introductory part of the session the choir „Jedinstvo“ preformed anthems „My Republic“ and „Gaudeamus“, and ceremonial session was followed by solist Dunja Simić.
The president of Academy of Sciences and Arts gave a speech on the work of the Academy and its position and role in and for the society in the last twenty years.
The president of Republic of Srpska H.E. Milorad Dodik and other distinguished guest gave an address, wishing to the Academy many anniversaries in the future. H.E. Milorad Dodik awarded the Academy by the Order of Njegoš of I Class on the occasion of 20 years of th work.
The Academy of Sciences and Arts presented the awards to its members and other that contributed to the work of the Academy. The president of the Republic H. E. Milorad Dodik has been awarded by the Gold medal of the Academy, as well as the members – founders of the Academy. Other members and one that contributed were given by golden signs, commendations and decorations.
After the ceremony was closed, the Round Table disccusion on the topic „The Role of the Academies of Sciences and Arts in the Future Society“ was held. The disscucion was very active, and it was concluded that Academies have inseparable role in the society and obligation to continue to help in decision making process in th field of science, education and art in dinamic process of technological changes, as well as to keep the traditional and cultural values of its people.
